The Queen Anne style Victorians was built for George Morris and Margaret “Maggie” Dillon Morris in 1888. Mr. Morris had a colorful employment history being a brick contractor, a conveyor of freight between Saint Joseph to Colorado and Montana who almost lost his life in a battle with Native Americans, and a gold miner who once had $80,000 in gold dust stolen from him by Native Americans. In his capacity as a brick contractor who supervised the brick construction elements on some of St. Joseph most promising businesses and residences. George Morris died in 1898.

Turn to your left and go to Charles Street.  Turn right on Charles and walk up to 10th street to find the First Evangelical Lutheran Church on the southwest corner of 10th and Charles.
