Otto Quentin House
1102 Edmond
Otto Quentin was a prominent pharmacy owner in Saint Joseph. He and his wife, Alice Horrigan, built this Queen Anne/Craftsman transitional house in 1902. The house has both Victorian and Prairie style architecture. Extensive quarter and rift sawn oak woodwork is throughout the first floor. The house retains it original butler’s pantry, servants stairs, and speaking tube that runs from the front door to the upstairs nursery. Some original light fixtures remain as do the one-of-a-kind leaded glass windows in the entry, dining room and living room. Sadly, Otto died in 1931 due to a fire in the basement of the house.
Cross 11th street from the Otto Quentin House, turn left and walk south to 210 South 11th to find the John Townsend House.
