The Taylor Home
1022 Edmond
The original part of this structure was built in 1888 as a single-family dwelling by Edward and Mary Taylor. They converted the home into a duplex in 1912 and changed it style from a Victorian cottage to the current Arts and Craft style. Mr. Taylor, with his uncle was the publisher of a widely circulated paper in Saint Joseph called The Journal of Commerce. He was also an accomplished gardener with beautiful )ower beds on the northeast corner of 12th and Edmond. Edward died in 1923.
Turn to your left and head back to 11th and Edmond. Cross Edmond to find the Evans-Ray Home on the northwest corner of 12th and Edmond.
